We have had a particularly frustrating last week with Christopher. This kid gets into EVERYTHING in a way that our other 3 did not. After catching him smearing a jar of Aquaphor all over the place, Pete had just had it.
Me: "You know Pete, he probably needs more attention. He's only doing this because he is wandering around the house unsupervised."
Pete: "Yeah well, we have 3 other kids that we ignored and they didn't do stuff like this!"

I love knowing I am in good company as a parent with unsupervised children.
I'm laughing - only because I can totally relate.
At least he didn't do what my brother did when newborn me was brought home from the hospital - Vaseline, all over the hardwood floors. Better yet, mother must have been blinded by no sleep, because she left the damn stuff at arm's reach the next night. Vaseline covered with baby powder. Oh yeah.
He's a very successful architect running his own firm today - don't worry, Christopher will be just fine.
I love your husband's response -- stellar! (And something I have said to my husband on many occasions.)
And Aquaphor, effing-A man. That stuff is so difficult to clean.
Oh baloney, you are great parents Peter's idea of being funny. Now you are giving people the wrong idea. Although, it was a funny response.. Mom (Liz)
I am in love with your husband (is that wrong?)
I am only laughing also because that is something my husband would have said. Sometimes it is so true. Ethan decided one day to spread toothpaste all of the walls.
Why is it that the youngest child does all of the bad stuff? Just when you think you're raising 4 perfect gentlemen, the 4th (and youngest) starts making up for all the other 3 put together.
Don't mean to be discouraging, but out of my 5, the 19 year old 5th child is going to be the death of me..........
Your husband's response was priceless! And I am so excited for you, for Monday, January 5th!! Oh how I wished I lived on your side of the country :)
Happy New Year!
Hilarious! I only have 2, but my youngest gets into a lot too! But maybe it is just selected memory and I just forgot OR I was more on top of things with my first and wasn't on the computer so much, lol!
Hahaha! That is AWESOME :) I read this post out loud to my husband because I remember when our third child was getting into EVERYTHING we probably had that exact same conversation! :) Too funny!
