Vinnie, my walking disaster

Last Monday we had a slightly panicked phone call from our nanny. Vinnie cut the back of his head on the coffee table and she was on her way to the office.

When they arrived, there was so much blood on the back of his head that Pete couldn't even find the cut. He told her to take him home, throw him in the bath tub to clean him up, then come on back.

Sure enough, there was a gash that needed to be closed up. Luckily it was on the back of his head, so he wasn't going to see what Pete was about to do to him. Even more lucky was the fact that we had just ordered a skin stapler for our office and it had recently arrived. Vinnie was going to be the first one to have it used on!

He did great! Pete numbed him up with lidocaine, which he didn't even feel. He didn't flinch when Pete put 3 staples in. The best part? This all happened during our lunch break, so it didn't totally mess with our day.

Vinnie is by far our most accident prone one. Last March he fell off a play structure and cut underneath his eye. Pete used glue to fix him that time.

Right before his second birthday he flipped backward off a chair and broke his foot. This we couldn't fix ourselves!

He also has a gray front tooth after knocking it loose on the back of Joeys head several months ago.

Be careful Vinnie!!

Sorry to delete the last comment. I got distracted and it didn't make sense.

Vinnie looks like a cute pirate in the first picture but it doesn't seem fair that a boy with those amazing eyelashes should have such a proclivity toward accidents.

Damn girl, it's a good thing you're both doctors. Although I have to say I want to keep a supply of super glue in the house now that I've read about the playground mishap.

I should know better than to be eating breakfast while reading a blog about Vinnie!

I love how you guys can fix these things on your own...if my kid cuts his head, baking a cake will NOT be of any help.
