Finally!

I think this is probably the longest stretch I have gone without updating my blog! I blame it on a combination of end of the summer busy-ness, and a computer that crashed and in the shop for the last several days. Frankly, I do not even know where to start, so will do a run down of the last 3 weeks of summer.

Once again Pete and I did the football physicals for the Almaden Pop Warner teams. Above you can see our set up. Basically a pop up tent in the parking lot! It was crazy busy, with a line down the parking lot. Between the 2 of us we did 70 check-ups in about 3 1/2 hours. All the money made went back to the football team. And the best part? We are relieved of all of our volunteer duties for the year!

We took the boys to a San Francisco Giants game. It was a beautiful day, but unfortunately the Giants choked so not such a great game.

Pete and I went to a night game on our own the following week. We arrived in the city early for dinner, then in to the game. It was freezing!! You have to love SF in the summer. The Giants played great and it was a perfect date night for us.

We had a slumber party to celebrate Zach's half birthday (for those who don't know, his bday is right before Xmas, so we celebrate in the summer instead).

He had his best buds over for swimming, cupcakes, and a sleepover. As you can see above I did not make special cupcakes. I just didn't have the time. I still feel guilty about that (not that Zach cares one bit!).

Thomas the Train was in town, so I took Christopher to that. I had taken Vinnie 3 years ago when he was in the Thomas stage. Christopher was so excited and talked about it for days leading up to the event. It was a beautiful train ride through the Santa Cruz mountains.

As excited as he was, he wigged out a little when it was time to get "up close and personal" with Thomas!

He was equally nervous with Sir Topham Hat. (I don't blame him. It was a bit creepy!)

There was face painting, trains to play with, and jumpy houses.

Best of all, it wiped him out and made for a peaceful ride home!

The summer ended with one last visit from Grandma Liz!
