Green question

Does the extra gas wasted driving back home to get my reusable bags negate any of the benefits of actually using the bags?

Yes. But it helps your overall disposition because you feel you are helping the environment, so I think it evens out in the end.

I just like the trader joes brown bags with handles for when I'm sending the kids with stuff. So I don't use reusable bags there. anywhere else then I say use them up! exept the costco ones I just saw those and laughed who buy stuff at costco that can fit in a bag even if it is a bigger bag. I use the whole back of my van!

Not if you are going back to get such cute bags as those. My Trader Joe's bags live in the back of my car because otherwise I'd forget them too.

Next time you forget them, I suggest buying new ones and passing them along to someone else who may not have such jazzy reusable bags. :-)

My problem is-- sometimes I shop in the van, sometimes in my car. So unless I get 2 sets of bags, they may be in the wrong car. Also, most of the time they stay in the kitchen because I forget to bring them out to the car/van. maybe I will buy another set!

Kelly-- I hear you on the costco thing. No bags there!

PS. My Dear Ol' Dad brought me two cans of my favorite coffee from TJ's and four of those exact bags! Lucky me!

Sigh - to have a Trader Joe's in my neighborhood. Lucky dogs.

I did just score some cute Target reusable bags in their $1 section.

However, I ended up at Walmart today, and I totally chickened out bringing in my reusable Target bags. How pathetic is that?!

LOL! I am the same way Michelle. . . I always forget my reusable bags until I am 1/2 way to the store. I am also embaressed to use reusable bags that have a store logo in a different store. . . I need to get over that though since starting in January there will be no other choices around here!
