The Pirates are on a 4 game losing streak. Clearly something had to be done. This calls for a sacrifice!
Parrot Pete, the team mascot, was brought to tonight's practice. Coach Mike had the boys sit in a sacred circle.
The bird was passed around so the boys could say their final good-byes.
Coach brought out a bowl to make the sacred potion. Ingredients included the blood of a chicken, ash, gun powder, herbs, sea salt, and various other ingredients. (it looked like he was making a bloody mary) He then dipped his finger in the potion and made a cross on the boys' bats.
He also rubbed the potion under each boys' eyes.
The Coach then drank the remaining potion (blech!!!).
A little lighter fluid and a match...
See you Pete the Parrot!
Coach read a poem.
A little dancing along with some whooping and hollering...
They finished with the universal "passing the bad mojo on" sign.
Go Pirates!!

Very cute...what a fun coach. I hope it works and the Pirates will win some games!!
That's funny! I have a few barn swallows I can send you cheap. I'm fighting a war with them about the location of their Spring nest. They seem to think over my front door is prime. I have a different idea. I pulled out the hose but I wonder if the potion would do the job.
So we are "dying" to know did the plot work??? When we burned our banner last year it didn't work, we are hoping it worked for you this year (atleast until you play us hehehe) Sandi & Kyle
